You know, turtles are one of the oldest reptile groups older than the lizards and reptile groups, about 215 million years old..About 300 species are alive now and some among them in the list of highly endangered..turtles like other reptiles are said to be ecototherms- varying body heat according to surroundings and commonly called coldblooded..These ones don't lay eggs in water, for that they comes to the banks of water bodies and the largest among turtles are aquatic ones..

The Crocodile bank supplies crocodiles, snakes, lizards etc to other zoos and needed institutions.

How To Reach Crocodile Bank:

The place is on the way to the famous archaeological city Mahabalipuram.

The nearest airport is Chennai (42kms)

The nearest railway stations are Chengalpettu(29kms) and Chennai(42kms)

Busses are always available from Pondycherry, Kanchipuram, chengalpettu And Chennai.

Note: Snakes are also there, but havent got enough time to get good snaps..
