Buddhism, Jainism and Brahminism were prevailing among the pallavas. The people were great painters and lovers of literature and arts. Gradually the culture was down throned by the cholas and the pallava's golden era came to an end!!!!!!!!!!
The town remains still as one of the major tourist attractions in south India..........
How to reach Mahabalipuram :
BY Air: Chennai is the nearby airport which is about 58 kms from mahabalipuram, and has both domestic and international terminals. From Chennai their are direct flights to all the major cities in India
By Rail: THe nearest Railway station is at Chengalpetu, 29 Kms away from Chennai.
By Road: Mahabalipuram is connected to the cities of Chennai, Chengalpetu, Pondycherry, Kanchipuram and other major cities of Tamil Nadu by a a good network of roads.
Note: This is still not a full coverage of the place. There are lots of things more. I was unfortunate to grab all the photos.
