Golden Shower Plant or Kanikonna- Kerala's most adored yellow flowers

"KANI KONNA or Golden shower-cassia fistula" The symbol of prosperity in Kerala.

Scientific named as Cassia Fistula.. Kanikonna a regional flower of Kerala which has great importance in the festival season of Vishu here..People uses bunches of this flower as Vishukkani. Also known in names like amaltas, fistula, aaragwadha.

Fistula is one of the herb which is used in treating skin diseases. The tree bark is used in treatements of ulcers and purification of blood as it is rich in tanine. Golden shower fruit pulp is one of the wellknown and safest laxative which is given for diabetics and even for pregnant women. Combining with other herbs fistula drug is used for curing infections in urinary tract, varicose vein disease, shrinking engorged vessels, and the drug has anti inflammatory power too.

Golden shower is the national flower of Thailand. Seeds of golden-shower plants are poisonous.

Cute cat which with a nice look..He was brave enough for a photo session like this and lay there like that for a while...

Cats ... one of the most popular pets in the world have great sense of smell and hearing..these animals usually weight between 2 and 7 kilograms and feeds on a variety of species and we considers him our friend for he keeps the usual irritating pests away from our home...

Spider and Web

"The spider in his web found on the front of our hostel..

I admires this picture most for i got the apt lighting to get the spider web in the photo.Taken in the morning rays of the sun..Don't know how much venomous is the spider..He may be waiting for his prey there..You know spiders are seen in all parts of the world except Antarctica......

I am not specific about the real name of this small cute yellow flower.
